But this has not made the basic concepts and the manual techniques of digital theory and practice obsolete. Rather, the manual techniques are the foundation of CAD tools and they provide a clear insight into the Cad tools. Therefore, it is very essential to have a strong foundation of the basic electronics techniques for making effective use of automation in design.
The electronic devices which we use in our daily life are known as consumer electronic goods, without them we cannot dream a life now days; these devices are used for communication, entertainment, and for work etc. The devices used are personal computers, MP3 players, walkmans, audio system, television, telephones(mobile phones), GPS automotive navigation system, sound recorders, washing machines, DVD players, camcorders etc. The global consumer electronic industry is ruled by companies like Sony, Toshiba, Philips, Samsung, LG, Panasonic, Apple, Microsoft; they countries which are known as hub of these items are Japan, Korea, China etc.

Digital Circuits: The voltage level is discrete in digital circuits; the common devices which work on principles of digital electronics are computers, programmable controllers, electronic clock, etc. The building blocks of the digital circuits are logic gates, flip-flops, adders, encoders, decoders, registers, counters, microprocessor, microcontrollers.
